Vashawá means the Serpent in Katukinas language. It is held as the most sacred animal, possessing innate knowledge of survival, growth and protection.

Set & Setting are commonly discussed with plant medicines.
The set is your mindset and headspace, while the setting is your external environment. It’s essential that both things are intentionally aligned when using any plant medicine.
Before sitting with these sacred medicines, you should have an intention in mind (and heart). It might be to clear your mind, answer a question you’ve been asking, or deepen your meditative state.
In addition to set, you should be in a setting that is a quiet and sacred space. The energy surrounding the use of the plant medicine should have the feeling of ritual and intentionality.

How to use Rapé
A Shaman traditionally administers Rapé through a wooden pipe (Tepi), the Shaman blows the medicine up each nostril. It is also possible to administer it yourself through a self-applicator called a Kuripe.
The Rapé is blown first through the left nostril and then the right, the life and death cycle.
1.Put a small amount of Rapé on the palm of your hand.
2.2.Connect to the medicine through the heart, and feel your intentions.
3.Fill the pipe (Kuripe) through the longer tube.
4.Position the Kuripe: take a deep breath through the mouth and hold.
5.Place the longer end of the Kuripe into the left nostril and the other end into the mouth.
6.Blow inside the Kuripe pipe with intention.
7.Repeat for the right nostril.
8.Now close your eyes and enjoy your meditation.
Once applied, breathe only from the mouth to prevent the powder going into the throat. After at least 10 minutes you can blow and clean your nose.
